Founding Story

Five years ago, I opened my yoga studio, inspired by a 20-year love affair with Hot Yoga and the profound benefits it brought me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. After giving birth to my two children, I faced challenges like a thyroid disorder and knee issues, but through my consistent practice, I found healing and rejuvenation. This journey fueled my passion to create a space where others in my community could experience similar transformations. My studio has become a sanctuary for individuals to enhance their fitness, foster connections, and embark on their healing journeys. Watching my students grow stronger, both in body and spirit, has turned my dream into a fulfilling reality, allowing me to serve my community in the best way I know how.

Our Foundational Four Pillars

BREATHE

Breath is life and life force energy. The breath is what connects us to life. At Agoura Hot Yoga, we use the breath to move, flow, heal, and grow. Our breath will influence the yoga practice to expand and go deeper. Learning to breathe and calm the breath in the hot room is beneficial to life both inside and outside the hot room. Learning to breathe correctly can help calm anxiety and relieve stress. In the yoga studio we begin and end our yoga practice with breathing techniques that train the lungs and body to energize, relax, and detox. Breath brings peace to a calm mind, body, and spirit.

MOVE

To enjoy life the human body must move. Mobility is the ability to move freely in space. Life is constantly changing and so does the body. In the yoga studio, we are constantly moving our bodies in ways that will keep our spines healthy and happy. Flexibility gives us more freedom to move in space. Body movement at Agoura Hot Yoga increases our fitness levels and promotes optimal health and longevity. This so we can continue to enjoy our lives and do what we love to do no matter our age in number.

SWEAT

The hot yoga studio was designed to make the body sweat. Sweating is the process in which the body exudes moisture through the pores of the skin. During exercise in the hot yoga studio, the body sweats out large amounts of toxins that are not serving the body in healthy ways. A regular hot yoga practice contributes to the detoxification process. This process helps to purity the cells of each organ of the body while allowing the systems to function in a better-balanced homeostasis. The body was designed to be slightly alkaline. Illness can only live and thrives in acidic environments. In today’s world, the foods we eat and the environment we live in is full of toxins. A healthy lifestyle includes understanding the nature of our body’s chemistry. Sweat goes out, clean natural alkaline water goes in. We are 75% water, and this water is the replenishment of all our hard work at Agoura Hot Yoga.

CONNECT

The ancient purpose of yoga was to unite the mind, body, and soul. The soul craves connection. Agoura Hot Yoga is a sanctuary for the student to unite the mind, body, and spirit. As the human begins to connect to the body and the mind, the desire for connection grows. This connection is with all facets of the self and others. When the body and mind are healthy and clear the desire for connection expands to the family, community, and eventually, all of creation. We all desire connections of some kind. Yoga gives the soul the awareness to clearly envision its true desires. To be at one with life is an extension of being at one with self. Know thyself first through Agoura Hot Yoga.
